CEREC Anniversary

We are happy to reach the1 year anniversary of our office's CEREC usage.  CEREC is an excellent technology that allows us to offer single-visit crowns for our patients which afford them multiple benefits.  With CEREC we are able:

• Save a considerable amount of time since two or more visits are not required
• Avoid many of the inconviences that may occur with temporary crowns such as breaking or coming off
• Have complete control of the restoration here in this office without having to rely on an outside person
• Offer very strong metal-free beautiful looking restorations in our office.

First the tooth is prepared just as any tooth would be if we were doing an ordinary laboratory made crown.  Then we take pictures of the tooth and using CAD/CAM technology we are able to design your new tooth on the computer.  After we have designed the tooth, the tooth is milled from a block of porcelain using a state-of-the-art milling unit located here in our office.  The tooth is fitted, then polished and prepared for a final cement in the mouth.
